Houthis Prevent News of American Strikes... Tighten Security Restrictions
-
Intensive American strikes have forced the Houthis to impose strict restrictions on information and prevent its circulation

The Yemeni capital Sanaa and areas under Houthi control are experiencing tension and confusion amid continuing American airstrikes targeting the Iran-backed group.
Informed sources revealed to Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath that the Houthis have issued a strict directive prohibiting citizens from publishing any information related to American strikes or human casualties. Additionally, they have imposed stringent restrictions on sharing details about their leaders' movements and military officials, claiming such information could be exploited against them for intelligence purposes.
In the same context, the spokesman for the unrecognized Houthi government, Hashem Ahmed Sharaf al-Din, who serves as the group's Minister of Information, called for refraining from publishing names or images of their casualties. Instead, he urged focusing on what he described as "the oppression of the Yemeni people."
Security sources in Sanaa confirmed that the group has imposed a comprehensive ban on mobile phone use by their leaders and their companions to prevent potential breaches.
Reports from Hodeidah indicate the near-complete disappearance of Houthi leadership in coastal areas, with many changing their phone numbers, resulting in communication disruption between them and their military and civilian cadres.
This comes as the United States conducts intensive raids against Houthi sites and weapons depots in Saada, Al-Jawf, Al-Bayda, and Hodeidah, as part of efforts to paralyze the group's ability to target international shipping using missiles and drones.
These precautionary measures reflect the growing concern within Houthi circles amid increasing strikes that appear to be approaching the group's military decision-making centers.
