Diplomatic Efforts to Resolve Tensions between Israel and Turkey in Syria
ترامب ونتنياهو

During a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, U.S. President Donald Trump pledged to resolve the ongoing tensions between Israel and Turkey in Syria. This occurred on April 7, where Trump expressed confidence in the possibility of reaching a solution, provided that all parties act rationally.

Trump stated, "I believe I can solve any problem you have with Turkey. The positive relationship I have with Turkey and its President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan enhances the chances of resolving these issues." He noted Turkey's role in the Syrian conflict, considering that Erdoğan has achieved accomplishments that no one has managed in the past two thousand years.

In this context, Tel Aviv issued warnings to Ankara against increasing its military influence in Syria, following the targeting of military sites where Turkey intended to deploy. The Israeli army confirmed that airstrikes in Syria served as a warning message to President Erdoğan, especially after reports indicated Turkey's intention to establish a military base in the countryside of Homs.

In response, the Turkish Foreign Ministry called on Israel to withdraw from Syrian territories, emphasizing the need to end expansionist policies to ensure security in the region. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan indicated that Turkey does not seek confrontation with Israel, reaffirming that any agreements between the new Syrian administration and Israel are their own issue.

At the same time, sources revealed that Turkey is working on building an air defense base at the "T4" military airport near Palmyra, aimed at countering the Islamic State and mitigating Israeli military pressures in Syria.
