Recep Tayyip Erdoğan commented on Bahçeli's statements regarding Öcalan, saying, "The historical opportunity window opened by the People's Alliance should not be tied to personal calculations."

Devlet Bahçeli, the leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), emphasized that Öcalan should be allowed to speak in the Turkish Parliament during a DEM party meeting.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan supported Bahçeli's statements, reiterating, "The historical opportunity window opened by the People's Alliance should not be a victim of personal calculations."

Erdoğan added:

"Politics and life should not be limited to individuals seeking to achieve personal interests, but should focus on the nation and the country as a whole.

No one has the right to pressure our homeland to achieve personal interests. This people will not forgive those who place their self-interests above the public good.

It is essential that we take serious steps to face challenges. Without a doubt, if we are not sincere, we will be criticized.

We will respond to the attacks against our party and government, while at the same time maintaining our harmony and comfort.

We will not remain silent in the face of injustice.

We will not tell those suffering from issues through our national system and democracy, "forever."

We hope everyone realizes that there is no place for terrorism in Turkey's future.

The historical opportunity window opened by the People's Alliance must not be tied to personal calculations.

We desire to build a Turkey free of terrorism together."
