Timing of Safa's Photos with Truce Implementation Indicates Hezbollah's Desire to Confirm Leadership's Safety Despite Israeli Targeting
Social media platforms circulated photos of Hezbollah's Liaison and Coordination Unit head Wafiq Safa, coinciding with resistance-Israel truce implementation and displaced people's return to Beirut's southern suburbs.
Footage showed Safa, who survived Israeli assassination attempt October 10, at Martyrs' Garden in Dahiyeh, Hezbollah's burial site.
One shot captured him talking with attendees, though photo timing remains unverified.
Safa disappeared after Israeli forces' assassination attempt in Noueri and Ras al-Nabaa central Beirut, killing over 22 and wounding dozens. Inside sources indicated Safa was targeted.
Some circles reported varying injuries from attack, while his condition remained mysterious, sparking speculation.
This assassination attempt follows Israeli operations targeting key Hezbollah leadership positions recently, notably Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah and successor Hashim Safi al-Din.
