Abu Dhabi Discusses Syrian Developments with Three Arab Capitals

Intensive Emirati communications with Arab officials and Syrian President reflect Abu Dhabi's keenness to coordinate positions regarding field developments
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, reviewed through phone calls Sunday with his counterparts in Iraq, Jordan, and Egypt bilateral relations and prospects for their development in various fields.
The UAE Foreign Minister discussed with his counterparts viewpoints on regional developments and their implications for security and stability in the region, according to Emirates News Agency.
During his calls with Fuad Hussein, Ayman Safadi, and Badr Abdel Aty, he discussed the accelerating developments in Syria, reiterating his country's position supporting Damascus in combating extremism and terrorism, expressing his wishes for Iraq and its people for continued security, stability, and growth.
UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a phone call Saturday with Syrian regime President Bashar al-Assad, and the two parties discussed Syrian developments, in addition to issues of mutual interest, according to Emirates News Agency.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed affirmed "the UAE's solidarity with Syria and its support in fighting terrorism and extremism".
He highlighted "the UAE's position supporting all efforts and endeavors to find a peaceful solution to the Syrian crisis in a way that achieves the aspirations of the brotherly Syrian people for stability and development, and ensures Syria's unity and sovereignty over all its territories".
