A Civil Platform Demands "Al-Julani" to Transition Politically... Away from the System of Quotas
In a move that reflects civil aspirations towards achieving political change in Syria, a civil platform has issued an official statement urging Ahmad al-Shar'a, known by the nickname "Abu Muhammad al-Julani," to initiate a comprehensive political transition that aligns with the hopes of the Syrian people. The platform emphasized the importance of moving beyond the quota system that has long negatively impacted efforts to build the state and strengthen its institutions.
The platform stressed that the political transition must result from an inclusive national dialogue that encompasses all components of Syrian society, in order to enhance national cohesion and build a prosperous and secure future for all Syrians without exception. It added that the current circumstances call for wise leadership committed to peaceful solutions that prioritize the nation's and citizens' interests, away from narrow agendas and personal interests.
The statement also called for creating a conducive environment for dialogue and strengthening civil society institutions to play an active role in the decision-making and reform processes, pointing out that this is the only way to overcome the ongoing crises faced by Syrians.
This statement comes at a time when the Syrian political scene is facing significant challenges, necessitating concerted efforts and a move towards an effective political solution that respects the rights of all parties and contributes to achieving peace and security in the country.
In conclusion, the platform reiterated its deep belief that political solutions must originate from within Syria, calling on all factions and political forces to unite around the common goal of building a democratic civil state in which everyone participates.
