40,000 Israeli Soldiers Participate in Ground Incursion in Southern Lebanon

The increasing number of Israeli military divisions participating in ground operations in southern Lebanon indicates the possibility of expanding the scope of the confrontation and transforming it fro
Israeli Army Radio revealed that a fifth military division has joined the ongoing ground operations in southern Lebanon, in a new escalation of the Israeli military stance in the region. The radio reported that Division 210 has begun implementing limited ground operations in the Shebaa Farms area, located in the eastern sector of the Lebanese-Israeli border.
This development comes following a gradual increase in the number of Israeli divisions participating in the ground operation, which began on October 1st. After initially being limited to one division, it expanded to include four divisions, and now includes a fifth.
Despite the Israeli army's initial announcement that the operation would be "limited and short," the reality on the ground indicates a continuous expansion in the scope of operations and the size of forces involved. Divisions 98, 36, 91, and 146 joined successively, and finally Division 210.
Although the Israeli army has not officially announced the number of soldiers participating in the ground incursion attempts in southern Lebanon, estimates suggest that the number could reach at least 40,000 soldiers. This estimate is based on the fact that a single military division usually comprises no less than 10,000 military personnel, in addition to the air and naval forces participating in the operations.
The expansion of Israeli ground operations to include Shebaa Farms adds a new dimension to the conflict, given the special status of this area and historical disputes over its sovereignty. The continuous increase in the number of participating Israeli forces raises questions about the extent of Israel's commitment to its promise that the operation would be "limited and short," and opens the door to possibilities of wider escalation in the region.
