البابا فرانسيس: يجب ضبط النفس بعد هجمات الخليج الأخيرة

دعا "البابا فرنسيس"، يوم الأحد، إلى ضبط النفس وخفض التوترات في الشرق الأوسط، بعد هجمات على ناقلتي نفط في خليج عمان أثارت مخاوف من مواجهة أكبر في المنطقة.

وفي تصريح لوكالة رويترز، قال "البابا فرنسيس" خلال زيارته لمدينة كاميرينو: "أدعو الجميع إلى استخدام أدوات الدبلوماسية لحل المشاكل المعقدة الناجمة عن الصراعات في الشرق الأوسط".

وأضاف: "أجدد نداءً قلبياً إلى المجتمع الدولي لبذل كل جهد ممكن لاختيار الحوار والسلام".

وكان قد قام "البابا فرانسيس" في فبراير/شباط الماضي، بزيارة تاريخية لأول مرة إلى الإمارات العربية المتحدة والخليج بشكل عام، وقال: "أُناشد جميع الأطراف المعنية والمجتمع الدولي للعمل على وجه السرعة لتعزيز احترام الاتفاقيات القائمة وضمان توزيع الغذاء والعمل من أجل صالح الشعب".

وكان قد دعا وزير الخارجية الأميركي مايك بومبيو، الأحد، إلى توحّد العالم في مواجهة إيران، إلى جانب قيام الإدارة الأميركية بدراسة سلسلة من الخيارات ضد إيران، ومن ضمنها الخيار العسكري.

وأكد بومبيو في تصريحه: “لدينا دائماً التفويض القانوني للذهاب إلى الحرب”.

وأشار بومبيو إلى أن الشعب الأميركي: “يجب أن يثق أن كل الخيارات التي تتخذ تحت إدارة ترامب هي قانونية”.

مع التأكيد أن: “إيران هي من ارتكبت الهجوم ضد ناقلتي النفط في خليج عُمان. واعتبر تلك الهجمات جزء من سلسة الهجمات التي شنتها إيران وأذرعها ضد الولايات المتحدة وحلفائها”.
