Two members of the regime killed in clashes with 'Hezbollah' in the countryside of Homs

On Friday, two Syrian members of Hezbollah were killed as a result of clashes between two groups from the organization in the Qusayr area of southern Homs.
Local sources reported that the conflict erupted in the village of al-Aqaribah in the Qusayr countryside, involving one group from Hezbollah that includes members from the Hermel region of eastern Lebanon, and another group consisting of Syrian fighters affiliated with the party.
According to the sources, the clashes resulted in the deaths of fighters Fadel al-Barshani and Ayham Balout, while another individual named Iyad Nabhan was injured. The three men hailed from the villages of Rabla and al-Zra'a in the southwestern countryside of Homs.
As for the reasons behind these clashes, the news outlet "+963" indicated that they stemmed from disputes over smuggling routes in the border area between Syria and Lebanon, with attempts to control and monopolize the profits from them.
These confrontations have raised concerns among local residents, who expressed their unease regarding the presence of Hezbollah members in residential areas.
Following the outbreak of the war in Lebanon on September 23, around 200,000 Lebanese sought refuge in Syria, including thousands of Hezbollah fighters and their families. A significant number of these fighters settled in the Qusayr area of southern Homs, which Hezbollah seized in June 2013, marking its first direct military intervention in Syria.
It is worth noting that the region has been subjected to several Israeli airstrikes over the past two months, targeting Hezbollah positions and weapon depots, resulting in casualties and injuries.
