Israel Targets Military Warehouses in Damascus
استهداف إسرائيل (تعبيرية)

Reports indicate that a series of explosions occurred in ammunition warehouses belonging to the 55th Air Defense Battalion, located on the slopes of Mount Mani (Al-Kiswa) in the rural area of Damascus, with explosions still ongoing.

Local sources, including "Syria TV," reported that the violent explosions shaking areas around the capital Damascus are believed to have targeted ammunition warehouses, although no further details were provided.

The "Syria News Network" confirmed that the increasing sounds of explosions are coming from the ammunition warehouses of the 55th Air Defense Battalion.

In a related context, the Russian news agency TASS reported that Israeli Air Force jets launched missile attacks on weapon warehouses belonging to the Syrian army in the southwest of Damascus.

Additionally, some Syrian social media accounts circulated that the Israeli Air Force attacked a military site in Damascus, stating that the Israeli planes entered Syrian airspace coming from the occupied Golan Heights and launched several missiles at a military site in the Al-Kiswa area. These accounts noted that the explosions heard were due to the detonation of weapons and ammunition within the targeted site.

So far, no official comment has been issued from the Syrian side, and there have been no reports of casualties or damage resulting from these attacks.

It is worth mentioning that military facilities in the vicinity of the city of Latakia were also targeted in an Israeli bombing on January 4. Israeli attacks on Syria have seen a notable increase following the crisis of Bashar al-Assad's regime, resulting in extensive destruction of military infrastructure and remaining army facilities of the regime.
