Iran-backed Houthi militias claimed on Sunday they carried out an attack on the U.S. aircraft carrier "Truman" and its escort ships, following U.S. forces' precise strikes against Houthi facilities in Sanaa, including a missile depot and command and control center.

The airstrikes specifically targeted Attan and Jabal Nuqum areas in central Sanaa, focusing on a weapons storage complex and control facility controlled by the Houthi group.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported shooting down several Houthi drones over the Red Sea, in addition to intercepting a missile directed at ships.

The Houthi militias earlier revealed that Yemen's western coastal Hodeidah governorate was subjected to U.S.-British attacks, hours after targeting their positions in Sanaa.

Pro-Houthi media reported in early Sunday hours details of U.S.-British strikes on Jabal Al-Jada in Al-Luhayya district of Hodeidah governorate, without specifying casualties or number of strikes.

U.S. Central Command announced Saturday evening that its forces "conducted precise airstrikes targeting a missile storage facility and Houthi command and control facility in Sanaa."

Their statement added that "these strikes aimed to disrupt and weaken Houthi operations, including attacks targeting U.S. warships and commercial vessels in the southern Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab, and Gulf of Aden."

A Washington-led military coalition has been conducting military operations in Yemen since early 2024, targeting Houthi positions in response to their Red Sea attacks against vessels linked to Israel, America, and Britain, which Houthis claim support Gaza, while Washington and allies see as a threat to global navigation.
