The actions of Hezbollah supporters fleeing from Lebanon have caused panic and turmoil among residents of the Syrian city of Homs. Journalistic sources reported that these elements began firing randomly and spreading chaos throughout the city, causing a state of panic among the residents.

These developments come in the wake of the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in an Israeli airstrike targeting a party headquarters in the southern suburbs of Beirut.

Reports indicate that Hezbollah elements, who fled Lebanon to escape confrontation with Israel, found safe haven in Homs. Since their arrival, they have begun engaging in terrifying behaviors, disregarding local laws and citizens' security.

Eyewitnesses reported that these individuals roam the city streets openly carrying weapons, raising serious concerns about residents' safety. Many locals have expressed their dissatisfaction with this deteriorating situation.

Journalistic sources pointed out that these elements are exploiting the fragile security situation in the area to impose their control and intimidate local residents. This development adds a new chapter to Hezbollah's dark history in Syria. Since 2011, the party has played a pivotal role in militarily supporting the Syrian regime, resulting in thousands of civilian casualties. Syrian human rights organizations have documented Hezbollah's participation in attacks on residential areas and the siege of entire cities, causing immense human suffering.

Other reports have pointed to the party's role in forced displacement operations of populations in various parts of Syria, aiming to create demographic changes serving the interests of the Syrian regime. Syrian activists are calling on the international community to hold the Syrian regime accountable, and to hold Hezbollah leaders accountable for crimes committed against Syrian civilians since the beginning of the crisis there.
