Yemeni Information Minister Muammar Al-Eryani welcomed the unanimous vote by French Senate members on a resolution condemning Houthi attacks on maritime navigation in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

The council adopted the resolution during a special session on Thursday, November 13, attended by Yemeni Ambassador to Paris Riyad Yassin.

Al-Eryani praised France's position supporting Yemeni legitimacy and stability, acknowledging efforts by French Ambassador to Yemen Catherine Grome-Kamon.

The Yemeni minister called on EU countries to take similar steps to the French position by adopting strict measures to deter Houthi militias and dry up their resources.

He demanded classifying the Houthi group as a global terrorist organization, given its continued threats to international navigation and regional security.

The French decision reflects growing international concern about Houthi threats to vital maritime shipping lanes in the region. The French move indicates the possibility of a unified and stricter European position emerging toward Houthi activities destabilizing regional stability.
