Without Coordination with Damascus.. Turkish Intelligence Conducts Operation Inside Syria
-
Turkish intelligence continues to breach Syrian sovereignty by carrying out security operations within Syrian territory without coordination with the Syrian Interim Government
Turkish intelligence carried out an operation inside Syrian territory to arrest "Mohammed Deeb Kurali," accused of participating in a violent incident that resulted in 53 deaths in Turkey's Hatay province in 2013.
Security sources told the Turkish official Anadolu Agency today, Monday, that Turkish intelligence services managed to locate Mohammed Deeb Kurali, who is accused of planning the incident and securing the explosives used in it.
The sources explained that Turkish authorities handed over Kurali to the Hatay province police directorate following his arrest in Syria.
Previously, Turkish intelligence carried out a similar operation in September 2018 in the Syrian city of Latakia, which resulted in the transfer of "Yusuf Nazik," accused of planning the bombing, to Turkish territory.
Reyhanli district in Hatay province witnessed two explosions on May 11, 2013, leading to the death of 53 people and injuring dozens of others.
International human rights organizations monitor an increase in Turkish operations inside Syrian territory, warning of the implications of these violations on state sovereignty and regional stability.
