Informed Kurdish sources reported French-American efforts to relaunch talks between the two main poles in the Syrian Kurdish movement, aiming to resume dialogues suspended since 2020.

The Western initiative included a comprehensive vision to address points of disagreement, seeking to convince the Kurdish National Council and National Unity parties led by the Democratic Union Party to resume negotiations.

French-American movements focused on four essential axes including unifying Kurdish political positions and discourse, establishing joint administration, and forming a unified delegation to participate in international forums concerned with the Syrian crisis.

Suleiman Osso, head of the Kurdish National Council, pointed to American and European support for resuming negotiations, confirming Western officials' emphasis on the importance of Kurdish and Syrian opposition unity.

Mohammad Musa, Secretary-General of the Kurdish Left Party, revealed Washington and Paris's efforts to revive Kurdish dialogues.

Zaid Safuk from the Presidential Committee of the Independent Kurdistan Movement explained that the initiative falls within efforts to de-escalate in northeastern Syria and form a joint government.
