In an interview on Fox Business, Monday, former President Donald Trump called bitcoin a probable “scam”, complaining that it’s competing against the US dollar, which he wants to be the “currency of the world.” bitcoin
Trump said on whether he would invest in the popular cryptocurrency, that “Bitcoin, it just seems like a scam,”, adding, “I don’t like it because it’s another currency competing against the dollar.”
“I want the dollar to be the currency of the world. That’s what I’ve always said.”
In the recent years, Trump has repeatedly shot down cryptocurrencies, accusing them of facilitating “unlawful behavior, including drug trade and other illegal activity.”
Trump’s presidential administration also attempted to crack down on cryptocurrency through regulations last year as one of its final acts ahead of President Joe Biden’s inauguration. bitcoin
