Prominent Alawite Figure's Western Capital Visits Reveal Possible Shift in Alawite Community's Position Toward Syrian Regime and President

Special sources told London's Levant newspaper about dramatic developments in Syrian scene, following tense meeting between Alawite sect sheikhs and Syrian regime president in Damascus.
Information indicated intensive diplomatic activity by prominent Syrian Alawite figure abroad, including multiple European capital tours, concluding with meeting former US President Donald Trump's team.
Sources reserved details of these visits, explaining their aims will be revealed soon. Syrian Alawite figures contacted by Levant disclosed talks focused on post-Assad arrangements.
Based on its contacts, newspaper suggested figure likely to be lawyer Issa Ibrahim, grandson of Sheikh Saleh Al-Ali, residing in Europe since fleeing Syria following regime harassment and targeting attempts.
Worth noting Sheikh Saleh Al-Ali was prominent historical Alawite sect leader in Syria, leading popular revolution against French occupation in 1920s.
Sheikh Saleh Al-Ali left significant struggle legacy in Syrian coast, where his family enjoyed prestigious social and political status before gradual marginalization by Assad father and son regime.
Sheikh Saleh Al-Ali family members, including grandson Issa Ibrahim, faced security harassment past decades due to opposition to regime policies and Assad family's power monopoly.
Movement comes amid growing Alawite sect discontent with regime policies, especially after heavy casualties in Syrian war, estimated at tens of thousands dead and wounded.
