Shooting in Los Angeles park leaves at least two dead
2 killed, 5 injured in shooting at music club in Texas, suspect at large

The Los Angeles Fire Department said Sunday (July 24), at least two people were killed and several people have been wounded following a shooting in the San Pedro neighborhood of Los Angeles, California.

It said that seven people were taken to local hospitals after gunfire erupted at an informal car show at Peck Park in the San Pedro neighborhood on Sunday.

The incident was reported at or near a car show in Peck Par, on North Western Avenue just before 4 p.m. (2300GMT).

Department spokesperson Brian Humphrey said, two of them – a man and a woman – later died of their wounds, The Guardian reported.

The shooting victims – four men and three women – ranged in age from 23 to 54, he said, but could offer no information about what caused the confrontation.

The statement said: "The circumstances, total number of patients and precise nature of their injuries have yet to be confirmed.”

Police had yet to report whether they had identified any suspects.

The shooting is the latest to hit the United States this summer, following mass shootings in Highland Park, Illinois, Uvalde, Texas, and Buffalo, New York.
