Russian Forces Advance in Kharkiv
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Wednesday that its forces have gained control over a new town in the Kharkiv region. This control comes after the announcement of seizing three towns over the past two days, one of which is in the Luhansk region.
According to the Ministry of Defense's statement, Russian forces succeeded in taking control of the town of Zabadnoye in Kharkiv, where they continue their advance across various fronts of the special military operation. The statement noted that units from the Russian "North" group targeted formations of the Ukrainian mechanized infantry brigade in the Vovchansk area of Kharkiv, resulting in significant losses for the Ukrainian forces, including about 40 soldiers, as well as one armored combat vehicle, two cars, and three artillery pieces.
The statement also clarified that units from the Russian "West" group liberated the town of Zabadnoye as part of the ongoing operations in the area.
In a related context, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported in the past two days that it had gained control over several towns in the Donbas region, announcing on Tuesday the capture of the town of Volkovoe in Donetsk. The Russian "Center" group continued its incursions into Ukrainian defensive lines, mentioning the liberation of the town of Volkovoe in the Donetsk People's Republic.
Additionally, the military operations carried out by Russian forces in recent days have resulted in the control of the town of Novogorovka in Luhansk and the town of Shevchenko in Donetsk, reflecting the expansion of Russian influence in the region as part of the special military operation.
