Resumption of Flights Between Damascus and Jeddah Announced by Syrian Ministry of Transport
The Syrian Ministry of Transport announced the resumption of flights between Damascus International Airport and King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, starting from November 7 of the upcoming month.
The Director General of the institution, Hatem Kabbas, stated that "flights to Jeddah have been resumed with two weekly flights on Mondays and Tuesdays of each week," according to the official Syrian news agency.
Hatem Kabbas also announced that this service will benefit members of the community and will activate communication and connectivity at all levels.
Kabbas called for making reservations in cooperation with the Syrian sports car offices, noting that operations for flights at the airport had been suspended since May 8, 2016.
Relations have recorded several bumps, especially after Bashar al-Assad came to power in 2000 following the death of Hafez al-Assad, who ruled the country from 1971 to 2000.
This will continue in May of last year (2023), and it was decided to establish its office in Syria in a manner that reflects the strong ties of brotherhood between the two peoples and the necessity of developing Arab cooperation to meet the region's security needs, according to a statement from the Saudi Foreign Ministry at that time.
