Over 50 Million Americans Cast Early Votes as Presidential Election Intensifies

More than 50 million Americans have already cast their votes in the presidential election, according to the University of Florida's "Early Voting Tracker."
These figures emerge as the candidates, Democratic Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump, intensify their campaigns in the final days leading up to the presidential race for the White House.
Data from the "Early Voting Tracker" indicates that approximately 39% of registered voters who voted early are Democrats, while Republicans make up about 36%. Notably, 41% of early voters are over the age of 65.
In comparison, around 100 million individuals participated in early voting during the 2020 elections, whether in-person or via mail.
According to a previous report on Al-Hurra's website, the U.S. electoral system offers early voting opportunities in all states except Mississippi, New Hampshire, and Alabama, as noted by the National Conference of State Legislatures. This provision allows registered voters to cast their ballots in-person at polling places before the official election day.
The start dates for early voting vary by state, with some beginning as early as September, while others may wait until mid-October or just days before the November election.
Regarding the counting and tallying of votes, most states start counting early votes on election day itself, while some states require waiting until polling places close before beginning the count.
