Opposition Forces Capture Strategic Areas in Hama
حماة

Syrian opposition factions have made significant advances in the countryside of Hama and Aleppo through operations "Deterring Aggression" and "Dawn of Freedom," seizing control of strategic towns and villages such as Taybat al-Imam, Halfaya, and Suran. They have also targeted sensitive positions of the regime using drones and captured several of its fighters.

In parallel, the Syrian regime has suffered considerable human and material losses, prompting Iranian militias to mobilize to support its forces amidst intense Russian strikes on health facilities and civilian areas in Idlib, resulting in hundreds of civilian casualties and a surge in displacement.

The escalating tensions in Syria have led the United States and Russia to reactivate their hotlines between their forces, while the Syrian regime has called for an emergency session at the United Nations Security Council. Both Iran and Russia have expressed their full support for President Assad.

On another note, Turkey has denied providing any support to the opposition factions, despite closely monitoring the developments. Meanwhile, international reports have warned of the possibility of Assad resorting to the use of chemical weapons, while Switzerland has called for de-escalation and the resumption of the political process based on UN Security Council Resolution 2254.
