Notables of Qardaha Deny Knowledge of Drones and Call for Investigation
-
Os Osman’s statements reflect growing tensions in Qardaha over the drone issue, amid a lack of government transparency

In a video posted on his Facebook page, Dr. Os Faez Osman, a notable figure in the city of Qardaha, denied any prior knowledge among the town's elders regarding the drones whose images and details have circulated in the media in recent days.
Osman stated: "We have seen the drone images and the information circulating on social media and in the media, just like other Syrians. We categorically deny any knowledge of the existence of these drones."
He called on the relevant authorities to provide full clarifications regarding how these drones were handed over and who was responsible for them, saying: "We demand that the concerned authorities, including security and state agencies, provide adequate explanations about the delivery of these drones, their location, who was involved in this process, how they became aware of them, and ensure that those responsible are properly investigated."
Osman's statement reflects growing dissatisfaction and skepticism about the authorities' transparency in handling this sensitive issue, especially in Qardaha, a key security stronghold in Syria.
His remarks sparked widespread debate on social media, with some viewing them as a legitimate concern, while others saw them as an attempt to quell public anger in Latakia.
Amid these developments, pressure is mounting on the Syrian government to provide official clarifications regarding these drones and to reveal who was responsible for handing them over, particularly since the ambiguity surrounding the case could lead to further tensions in Latakia.
