Military Control Map Changes in Favor of Sudanese Armed Forces
-
Increasing defections within Rapid Support Forces and shrinking areas under their control indicate a notable decline in their military capabilities and internal cohesion

The consecutive achievements of the Sudanese Armed Forces have dominated the military scene, coinciding with increasing defections within the Rapid Support Forces militia and the joining of their leaders to the Sudanese army, notably the field commander in Al-Jazeera state, Abu Aqila Kikil.
Egyptian National Security Policy and Strategic Affairs expert, Major General Ahmed Al-Nahhas, revealed in exclusive statements to Al-Arabiya.net and Al-Hadath.net that the Sudanese Armed Forces have achieved successive accomplishments resulting in weakening the military capabilities of the Rapid Support Forces militia. They have regained control over strategic locations in Khartoum, including bridges connecting Khartoum, Bahri, and Omdurman, as well as extending control over the eastern Sudan states completely and the Northern State.
Major General Al-Nahhas highlighted the decline in RSF militia activity in western Sudan, specifically in Darfur, and the successive defection of many leaders, emphasizing that regional and international efforts to settle the situation in Sudan have led to some parties withdrawing their support for the RSF militia.
The Egyptian expert anticipated the possibility of paralyzing the RSF militia's resistance capabilities if the Sudanese Armed Forces continue their military pressure and build on achieved successes, noting the necessity of stopping any external funding or support to the militia in the coming period to prevent the restoration of their military capabilities.
The Egyptian expert acknowledged the difficulty in determining a precise timeframe for the collapse of the RSF militia, despite the rapid successive achievements made by the Sudanese Armed Forces in the tripartite capital since last September, attributing this to the scale of support provided to the militia from supporting parties.
The armed conflict in Sudan has continued since mid-April 2023 between the Sudanese Armed Forces led by Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces militia led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a meeting in Cairo with Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Chairman of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, on the sidelines of the World Urban Conference, where Sisi renewed "Egypt's continued support for Sudan at all levels to emerge from its current crisis, emphasizing Egypt's firm position seeking ceasefire and sparing Sudanese blood."
