Spread of kidnappings and executions in Syrian regions reveals new authority's failure to maintain security and protect citizens

Syrian regions witness wave of chaos and violations, including organized kidnappings and executions amid weapons proliferation and authorities' security failure.
Latest operations claimed lives of citizen and son in Jableh, kidnapped from home by armed men impersonating "HTS." Bodies found at Tishreen Hospital after 17 days.
In Homs, armed group executed mass kidnapping of six citizens from Abbasiya district, ending in their execution. Kidnappings continued, including citizen and nephew near Sixty Highway, followed by brother and second nephew near Bab al-Dreib roundabout.
In rural Latakia, armed men kidnapped and executed captain-ranked officer claiming non-settlement, despite his inability to do so. Operations extended to eastern Homs countryside, with kidnappings in Sindiana village and Mushayrifah.
Former soldier who underwent settlement was kidnapped and tortured in Homs' Karm al-Louz district before release and hospital transfer.
Analysts indicate events reveal central authority absence and security enforcement failure, enabling armed gangs' spread and chaos growth.
Observers warn of continuing chaos impact on social fabric, especially with organized pattern targeting civilians and former military personnel. Activists demand authorities control security and pursue armed gangs, warning of Syrian regions becoming settling-scores arena.
