Israeli Foreign Ministry: No Positive Parties in Current Syrian Conflict
-
The withdrawal of Syrian regime forces from Aleppo without resistance appears to indicate radical changes in the Syrian military landscape

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar initiated Israeli official comments on Syrian developments, speaking today, Sunday, about the absence of a "good party" in the ongoing confrontations, referring to the armed factions and "Hayat Tahrir al-Sham" controlling Aleppo, and Syrian regime forces.
In statements reported by CNN, he emphasized the necessity of considering Kurdish interests in northern Syria, and considered that current circumstances call for strengthening cooperation with Kurdish forces, referring to the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
These statements coincided with intensified Israeli airstrikes on Syrian territory during recent months, targeting Hezbollah and Iranian-backed armed groups. Armed factions and "Hayat Tahrir al-Sham" have achieved additional gains around Aleppo in recent hours.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored today, Sunday, these forces extending their control over the towns of Khanaser and Al-Safira, in addition to the Aleppo-Damascus road known as M5, Kuwaires Airport in rural Aleppo, and other military facilities including the Mengh base in Azaz.
The Observatory revealed that the entire city of Aleppo has left the grip of Syrian regime forces, following the withdrawal of its units without battles.
Opposition militias led by the "Al-Nusra Front/Hayat Tahrir al-Sham" organization began their surprise attack since last Wednesday, where most Syrian regime forces retreated from the country's second-largest city, despite having controlled it since 2016 after expelling militants.
These field developments raised concerns in Baghdad, as well as Moscow and Tehran, allies of the Syrian regime, while Ankara distanced itself from this military shift.
