Israeli Airstrikes Hit Palmyra Amid Ongoing Tensions in Syria

The city of Palmyra, located in the central Syrian province of Homs, was targeted in Israeli airstrikes, as reported by the official television station affiliated with the Syrian regime on Wednesday.
The Syrian News Agency (SANA) stated that the strikes targeted "residential buildings and the industrial city in Palmyra."
Additionally, the radio station "Sham FM," broadcasting from the capital, Damascus, mentioned that there was information regarding injuries and that the strikes hit "several residential buildings."
Notably, the Israeli strikes in Syria have been concentrating on industrial cities, as seen previously in the Homs area multiple times and in Qusair near the Lebanese border, and now in Palmyra.
Palmyra is situated in a vast desert region and falls under the jurisdiction of Homs province.
No comments have been made by the Israeli side as of the time this news was published.
The Israeli military has previously confirmed responsibility for several strikes in Syria, the most recent of which occurred in the Mezzeh neighborhood of Damascus. They stated that the attack resulted in the deaths of leaders from the Islamic Jihad movement.
The Islamic Jihad confirmed the deaths of its officials, whose funerals were held in Damascus two days prior, with their bodies buried in Yarmouk camp, according to a media source from Damascus speaking to Al-Hurra.
