On Monday, three individuals were killed, including a Hezbollah militia official, and several others were injured in an Israeli airstrike in the Mazzeh neighborhood of Damascus.

Local sources reported that an Israeli missile strike targeted a civilian vehicle near the Golden Hotel and a mourning tent set up for Hamas political bureau head Yehya Sinwar, resulting in the death of three people, including a Hezbollah official who had just exited the mourning gathering.

The Israeli Defense Forces announced on Monday evening the assassination of a financial official in the Hezbollah militia during the attack in Damascus.

A military source from the Assad government's defense ministry stated in a statement, “Around 5:17 PM today, the Israeli enemy launched an aerial attack targeting a civilian vehicle in the Mazzeh residential area of Damascus.”

The statement added that the assault “resulted in the martyrdom of two civilians, injuries to three others, and material damage to private properties in the surrounding area.”

This incident coincides with unconfirmed reports about the assassination of the Secretary-General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad during the attack.

Previously, on October 8, Israeli forces targeted a residential building near the Iranian embassy in the Mazzeh district, leading to casualties among civilians, including women and children.

Since the onset of the conflict in Gaza, Israeli forces have intensified their attacks in Syria, with strikes escalating amid increased military and security operations by Israeli forces in Lebanon.
