The loss of artist Juma Khalil and his friend Kivo Othman represents a severe blow to the cultural and sports scene in the region

The city of Qamishli mourned today two of its most influential figures, following the death of comedian Juma Ibrahim, known as "Bafi Tayar" (64 years old), who succumbed to his wounds in a Tabqa hospital, due to the Turkish bombing that targeted Tishrin Dam yesterday.
A source close to the late artist's family told Arta Radio the details of his death, indicating that his body is on its way to Qamishli city, where funeral and burial ceremonies will be held. His friend, the athlete Kivo Othman, known as "Abu Hoker," was also killed with him.
The late artist had a rich artistic career spanning more than a quarter of a century, beginning his artistic journey in 1998 to become one of the most prominent figures in Kurdish comedy, leaving a distinctive mark in the region's cultural memory.
Journalist Sherwan Ibrahim posted a tweet on his Twitter account mourning the two victims, confirming that they were among the most prominent popular figures who brought joy and fun to many people's lives for many years, praying for them and other martyrs for mercy, glory, and immortality.
