Houthis Confirm Their Response Following Israeli Airstrikes on Yemen
اليمن وصواريخ الحوثي \ تعبيرية

In response to a series of Israeli airstrikes targeting multiple sites in the Yemeni capital, Sana'a, and the city of Hodeidah, the Houthis have expressed their determination to retaliate. Houthi spokesman Yahya Sari' stated in a video statement published on X platform today, Thursday, that "the Israeli attacks will not deter the Houthis from responding and continuing to support the Gaza Strip."

Sari' reported that "the attack on Tel Aviv coincided with the Israeli airstrikes on Yemen," adding that the group targeted two military sites in Jaffa with two ballistic missiles.

At the same time, Israel warned the Houthis against continuing to launch missiles, threatening to carry out painful strikes. Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari stated in a video message that the Houthis have become a "global threat," pointing out that "the Iranian regime funds, arms, and directs the activities of this group." Hagari added, "We will continue to act against any entity in the Middle East that threatens the State of Israel."

He also reported that the Israeli army has conducted airstrikes on "Houthi military targets," focusing on "ports and energy infrastructure."

Since November, the Houthis have executed attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, asserting that these actions are part of their "support" for Palestinians during the devastating war against Hamas, which began on October 7, 2023. The Iranian-backed group has launched dozens of missiles and drones towards Tel Aviv. In July 2024, an explosion from a bomb-laden drone in Tel Aviv resulted in the death of an Israeli civilian, prompting Israel to carry out retaliatory strikes on the coastal Yemeni governorate of Hodeidah.
