Germany determined to boost cooperation with Lebanon

Visiting German Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office Niels Annen said on Tuesday while meeting with Lebanese President Michel Aoun,  Germany will boost cooperation with Lebanon in all fields.


The Xinhua reported, Annen was quoted as saying by a statement of Lebanon's Presidency: "Germany is determined to boost its cooperation with Lebanon for the benefit of the two friendly countries and peoples."


The Xinhua news agency mentioned, German official said his country will also help Lebanon overcome its crisis to be able to advance and reach stability.



For his part, Aoun asked Annen for Germany's technical support in the investigation into the Beirut port blasts which killed over 200 people on Aug. 4, 2020.

The president also said that any help from Germany in the implementation of development projects in Lebanon including the Beirut port reconstruction, electricity development projects and electronic government is welcomed.
