From London.. Former Brotherhood Official Reveals Group's Money Management Secrets
-
Brotherhood appears to have succeeded in ensuring continuity of funds management through inheriting financial positions within specific trusted families

The departure of Muslim Brotherhood financial officer Youssef Nada, director of the group's overseas funds, left questions and concerns among group leadership about any Brotherhood figure's ability to fill the void he left.
Major General Mohsen Al-Fahham, former deputy head of State Security Investigations, revealed in exclusive statements to "Al-Arabiya.net/Al-Hadath.net" that someone currently holds this position unofficially, even during Nada's prominent period: Brotherhood leader Osama Farid Abdel Khaliq, based in London, who manages the group's funds and treasuries in Europe and all its economic activities there.
Al-Fahham mentioned that Osama Farid's role represents an extension of his father Farid Abdel Khaliq's path, who initiated establishing economic facilities for the group outside Egypt, especially in Europe and America, in cooperation with Nada, adding that as Farid Abdel Khaliq aged and distanced from the group for long periods, his responsibilities transferred to his sons: Ahmed and Osama, without giving them organizational positions in the Brotherhood.
Osama Farid emerged publicly in Egypt during Brotherhood rule when establishing the Egyptian Businessmen Association in 2012, leading its members with Hassan Malek, Abdel Rahman Saudi, Samir Al-Najjar, and Essam Al-Haddad, aiming to employ and manage the group's funds locally and abroad in car assembly, real estate, pharmaceuticals, and software sectors.
The Brotherhood financial officer holds British citizenship and has been based in England since the early 1980s, heading many Brotherhood institutions and entities in Britain and other European countries, and hosted group leaders fleeing Egypt after President Anwar Sadat's assassination.
Osama Farid's dominance over economic, commercial, and investment decisions of group funds was completed after the arrest of Deputy Supreme Guide Khairat Al-Shater, while the Brotherhood mourned Nada, founder of its financial empire and one of its historical leaders, at age 94, including 77 years serving the group.
