Prominent Syrian-Ukrainian businessman Adnan Kiwan, originally from the town of Tafas in Daraa governorate, has passed away, leaving behind a significant economic and cultural legacy in Ukraine.
The deceased was a notable figure in the Ukrainian business world, owning numerous properties in the Odessa region and was known for his activities in the construction and iron sectors. He founded several companies, including "Kiwan Group" and "Kaddour Group" specializing in contracting.
Kiwan, who held a PhD in Civil Engineering, diversified his investments to include shopping centers and business complexes across various Ukrainian cities, in addition to owning the English-language newspaper "Kyiv Post".
Forbes Middle East magazine evaluated the late businessman's wealth at approximately 96 million dollars.
Kiwan was distinguished by his interest in cultural and religious activities, having built the first and largest mosque in Ukraine and contributed to establishing the "Arab Islamic Cultural Center" in Odessa, as well as founding the "Arab Cultural Center for Justice and Democracy".
It's worth noting that Kiwan was one of the most prominent Syrian businessmen in diaspora, successfully building a diverse economic empire and contributing to strengthening the Syrian cultural presence in Ukraine.
