Airstrikes Hit "Illegal" Crossing Between Syria and Lebanon
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that Israeli aircraft conducted a new airstrike on one of the crossings between Syria and Lebanon. The strikes targeted the vicinity of the Hosh Sayyid Ali crossing in the Homs countryside, located on the border between Syria and Lebanon. This crossing is considered one of the "illegal" passage points and a route for smuggling between the two countries, with no information on casualties reported so far.
The Israeli army renewed its aerial assaults on Wednesday afternoon, targeting Baalbek and its surroundings while continuing shelling on southern towns and villages.
In the latest strikes, a correspondent for "An-Nahar" reported casualties from the attacks that targeted Baalbek and Hermel, affecting areas such as Jurd Taaraya, the outskirts of Bayt Meshik, Shaath near the مقام النبي إسماعيل (Prophet Ishmael shrine), and the towns of Boudai (multiple times), Ansar, and the Hosh Sayyid Ali area. An airstrike also hit the Al-Hafir neighborhood in the town of Boudai and a house in Baalbek belonging to the Isber family, as well as the Al-Asira neighborhood within the city.
The correspondent also noted that one of the strikes targeted a building in the Al-Luqis neighborhood in Baalbek city, which had been warned for evacuation on Sunday but had not been attacked at that time.
It was reported that the number of casualties has reached five so far in the strike on the Shaqan neighborhood in Baalbek, which is considered relatively safe and has seen many families displaced from within the city relocate there.
