Hezbollah: Israeli Threats in the Syrian War
Hezbollah did not anticipate that its involvement in the Syrian war would become the final nail in the coffin for the resistance, despite its significant efforts to protect Bashar Assad's regime. The unfolding events have proven that this battleground has become a critical source of vital intelligence for the Israeli army regarding Hezbollah's movements and its leaders, both military and political.
Hezbollah's leadership has come to a firm conclusion that the greatest threat emanates from Syria. The Syrian regime has taken no measures to protect the resistance, which has left them exposed to serious security risks. These conclusions are based on information gathered by the party from the ground, in addition to reports it has produced regarding the situation in Syria.
According to exclusive information obtained by "Voice of Beirut International," party leaders sent a clear message to their leadership in Lebanon, indicating that Syria is the primary source of vulnerability, not Iran. The Assad regime has been identified as one of the countries that has disclosed Hezbollah's movements, and this information reached Israel after the intensity of fighting in Syria decreased and as disputes escalated between Hezbollah members and influential figures within the Syrian regime.
The information indicates that all party leaders targeted were actively participating in the Syrian conflict and were in direct contact with the Syrian leadership, sharing sensitive security intelligence, viewing the Syrian regime as their main ally and protector. Unfortunately, this cooperation has turned into a dagger aimed at Hezbollah's existence.
Israel has gathered detailed intelligence on all strategic centers of the party in the southern suburbs and other areas, including information about its field leaders such as Fouad Shukr and Ibrahim Aqil. The Israeli military has comprehensive surveillance of their movements in Syria, waiting for the right moment to strike.
Moreover, the situation escalated, with most of the party leaders who remained in Syria and were involved in frontline battles being targeted, facing Israeli airstrikes that directly hit their homes. Some of these leaders, having traveled from Lebanon to Syria, were attacked upon arrival, further confirming that Syria is indeed a significant source of vulnerability for Hezbollah.
